In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child 2024, Ray’s Haven committed to supporting children and adults with special needs, hosted a meaningful event at Queen Amina College in Kaduna. The organization distributed hundreds of self-care kits to students from Queen Amina College, Providence Academy, Nabila Academy, and Kaduna Special Needs School. Additionally, Ray’s Haven provided a donation of N20,000 to individuals with disabilities, demonstrating its dedication to fostering a society where no one is left behind.
The event, held under the theme “Girls’ Vision for the Future.” featured diverse activities, including panel discussions, mentorship corners, networking opportunities, and educational presentations. Highlights included a health awareness talk by Mr. Bright Lee, a self-care coach, who educated students on recognizing signs of potential abuse, emphasizing empowerment and self-protection.
In her address, a representative from the Marauniya Foundation thanked Ray’s Haven for organizing the event and underscored the importance of access to quality education and healthcare for every girl. The Project Manager for Ray’s Haven, Sadiq Abdullateef, noted that the event aimed to empower young girls by providing them with knowledge and skills in various areas, including health, technology, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Ray’s Haven’s work over the years has positively impacted thousands of girls, and the organization plans to expand its reach by developing a dedicated website offering educational resources.
